The Case Management module provides a complete information management system for occupational and non-occupational (disability) cases. The module allows you to record and track an employee’s progress related to occupational and non-occupational injuries including their absences, work restrictions, and expected return date. Cority automatically calculates days and hours of work lost and captures:
employee information and the date of the illness or injury
assigned case manager
third-party adjusters, where applicable
the date the case was initially opened and the date the employee was first contacted
user-definable case types (STD, LTD, WCB, etc.) and case status (Absent, Modified, Closed, etc.)
unlimited medical conditions including start and end date
source that determined the diagnosis
extensive case notes
tracking for FMLA and ADA purposes.
For each case a unique number is assigned that is used to track all activities associated with the case including information captured in the Clinic Visits module.
Cority provides integrated access to two external guidelines:
The Official Disability Guidelines® (ODG) from the Work Loss Data Institute permits the assessment of minimum and maximum disability durations by diagnoses/procedures. The module compares the disability duration guideline with the personal medical doctor guideline and the negotiated day by the case manager to provide return on investment information related to case management services.
MDGuidelines® from Reed Group includes evidence-based, physician-reviewed RTW duration guidelines, a predictive modeling tool that enables case managers to tailor guidelines to individual employees, medical monographs suitable for educating employees, and occupational treatment guidelines.
A To-Do List works in combination with Activity Tracking to capture a tickler list and to record a chronological history of all activity related to a case. This includes user-defined case activities and transaction dates, the names of providers, specific costs (where applicable), case notes and recall dates.
A series of standard and user-defined reports are available including the time lost by employee, case type, provider, and department; differences between expected and actual return to work following an absence, showing actual work days saved; case return to work statistics compared to disability guidelines; and reports of case management activities including cost and time data. You can also track and manage OSHA reporting requirements.
Cases can be delegated to another case manager permanently (e.g. if the original case manager has left the company) or for a specific time period (e.g. to cover a vacation or other absence).
This chapter explains how to:
work with case master files (see Working with a Case Master File)
delegate cases (see Delegating Cases to Another Case Manager)
track employee absences and work restrictions (see Recording an Absence and Viewing All Absences and Restrictions for an Employee)
view disability guidelines to determine recommended return to work guidelines (see Checking the Disability Guidelines)
